This document provides contact information for a variety of sources for satellite image data.

Currently, the state of satellite remote sensing is highly volatile. Older satellites are beginning to lose capability; new satellites and missions are being deployed around the world.

This list is intended to provide resources for further investigation. It cannot hope to be complete or fully up-to-date; contact the organizations listed here for the most current and accurate information.

USGS EROS Data Center

EROS Data Center maintains and distributes many different spatial data sets, including archived Landsat TM and MSS imagery which can be downloaded free of charge.

JAXA develops and operates Japanese satellite programs, including the recently launched ALOS (Advanced Land Observing Satellite) JERS-1 radar satellite. RESTEC is the premier Japanese research and development agency for space-related projects, and is responsible for data distribution.

R & D Center ScanEx

Distributors of Russian Resurs-01 and Meteor-3M satellite digital data, as well as a range of other satellites. ScanEx also develops and sells personal receiving stations for Resurs-01 and other satellites.
